His Palabra ("we", "us", "the app") is a free Bible application. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What We Collect

• Email address — for account creation and password recovery
• Username and display name — visible in community chat
• City selection — to place you in your local community group
• Age range — to ensure COPPA compliance (we do not serve users under 13)
• Reading progress — chapters read, streaks, XP earned
• Community messages — messages you post in city group chat

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT collect your real name (beyond what you choose to display)
• We do NOT collect your phone number
• We do NOT collect your location (city is self-selected)
• We do NOT collect contacts from your phone
• We do NOT use tracking cookies or advertising SDKs
• We have NO ads and NO ad-tracking

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the app experience: showing your reading progress, displaying your username in city chat, calculating streaks and XP, and sending notifications you've opted into.

Data Storage

All data is stored securely on Supabase servers in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Community Chat

Messages posted in city group chat are visible to all members of that city group. There are no direct messages in His Palabra. All chat is group-only by design for safety.

Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, share, or provide your data to any third party. Period. No advertisers, no data brokers, no exceptions.

Donations

Donations are processed through external services (Ko-fi/Stripe). We do not store your payment information. Donation history is not visible to other users.

Children's Privacy

His Palabra is not intended for children under 13. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account, in compliance with COPPA.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@hispalabra.org.
